«In this challenging project, Adnovum kept track of everything despite high expectations from various areas and worked efficiently toward the goal. The result enables us to communicate with customers – both digitally and in person.»

The solution

A digital 3D world, which develops the playful character of the original physical model further, brings the vision of a modern neighborhood with a high feel-good factor to life.

This interactive 3D neighborhood is used at trade fair presentations by BKW employees and  at home on the sofa of interested parties. It offers BKW a modern way of interacting with existing and potential customers, whether in person or digitally.

The first release of the application showed what makes a livable neighborhood. The second one illustrated BKW's apprenticeships and the third one provided a particularly immersive experience of the neighborhood via the haptic table Lusee.

Features that changed the game for BKW

Strong differentiation in the market: Instead of slides or videos, the focus is on an interactive experience. This is eye-catching at trade fairs, memorable in conversations, and a sign of innovative strength.

Easy to understand for non-professionals and experts alike: Whether communal councilors, young people, or experts, the 3D world appeals to everyone. It is free of barriers and requires no prior knowledge.

Communicating complex topics simply and emotionally: Content is not explained, but experienced. Visually, intuitively, and emotionally.

Opportunities for dialog: The immersive neighborhood stimulates conversations, not only about content, but also about shared visions.

Easily expandable: The application can be updated with new content, scenarios, or target groups at any time without having to rethink it.

How we got there

It was important to BKW to create an interactive 3D world that clearly stands out from the crowd. At the same time, the result had to be in line with their style guide.

Right from the start, Adnovum's UX team made sure that the 3D environment was versatile and could be adapted to different purposes with minimal effort.

Taking into account the high content and functional requirements, it designed the 3D neighborhood in such a way that it is as easy as possible for users to operate. This was possible because the UX team created a simple, recurring operating pattern despite the unfamiliar controls. This allows users to quickly find their way around and concentrate fully on the content.

«Thanks to excellent cooperation and many discussions, a structure has been created that brings BKW’s professional world to life and will be used more widely in the future, for example with Lusee at job fairs.»
