AdNovum - From small business to renowned software company
From early on, AdNovum was able to differentiate itself from the competition, asserting itself as a high-quality innovator, able to skillfully solve problems from which others had shied away.
Between 1998 and 2003, despite the dotcom meltdown, the company continued to grow at a steady clip, and soon surpassed 90 employees. During this time, AdNovum became active in internet banking, performing projects for renowned financial institutions. Among them was Zurich Invest Bank, the first pure-play internet bank, and Wegelin Online, the e-banking application for the oldest private bank in Switzerland.
With the arrival of the web-era, AdNovum successfully established itself as an expert in IT Security. Subsequently, AdNovum has implemented a range of access and identity management projects for organizations with security-critical data. Security engineering has remained an AdNovum cornerstone.
In 2004, AdNovum opened an office in Budapest, and in 2006 another one in Bern. With its geographical expansion and its greatly expanded solution portfolio, AdNovum officially joined the ranks of the internationally active and at the same time added several major players to its established clientele, including some formidable public sector players (Swiss Federal and Cantonal Authorities and the Swiss Post).
In 2007, company founder Stefan Arn stepped down and sold the company to IHAG Holding AG. Ruedi Wipf then assumed the role of CEO, returning to Zurich after successfully starting and leading AdNovum's Budapest operations for 3 years. Since then, he has presided over the 6-member board of directors of long-time AdNovum employees, who together with an independent board of directors, will chart AdNovum's future course.
In 2010, AdNovum has opened a sales office in Singapore. Today, a total of about 220 employees are working from 4 different locations. The company's service offering continues to grow and now includes IT consulting and application management. The customer base continues to increase, and is represented by renowned private and public sector organizations from diverse industries. Sales have grown as well, increasing by 30%.
AdNovum has become the Swiss software developer of choice for large, custom made, complex, and high quality solutions.
